I admire your perseverance in watching a movie several times even though it doesn't do it for you. I love the first half of the movie, and it's kind of cool counting how many stories within a story within a story get nested, but the second half seems aimless to me. Or is that the point?

If anyone else here finds themselves watching it, don't miss the electronic music score by Krzysztof Penderecki, IIRC. And the original book of stories by Count Jan Potocki makes nice bedtime reading.
